Field Trips

January 10 – 24, 2019
Quartzite, AZ
Ye Old Timers Mineral Club’s Quartzite Camp.  These are a fun bunch of Folks to camp with.  It’s dry camping, with amenities nearby, and open to all rockhounds and guests. The camping area is approximately 5 miles north of Quartzite, right on Plomosa Rd. Watch for the YOTMC signs on the right side, about 1.1 miles in.

January 16 – 20, 2019
Quartzite, AZ
Quartzite Improvement Association Powwow Road Trips. The association sponsors two
different field trips a day. This is an area rich in material and these are well led trips. No
further details yet, but keep checking with them at www.qiaarizona.org/PowWow.html

Yuba Goldfields
Between Yuba City and Smartville, CA
Nevada County Gem and Mineral Society
For Yuba Blue Rock, Rice Rock ( Porphyry ) and it’s said to be a great place for Suiseki material.

Topaz Mt., Delta, Ut.
C.F.M.S. North, Roseville Rock Rollers Gem and Mineral Society
For Bixbite, Topaz, Pseudobrookite and Hematite Crystals.  And the Dugway Geode beds.
Some of these are new areas of discoveries. These folks are among the best field trips leaders I’ve come across.
